#144--Message from the Sky

UNDELIVERABLE

Sometimes you think
about breeding in silence

it’s like dozing
in a concrete armchair

each tooth of reverie
leaves a bite-mark
on your arm or leg

when the rain
is loosened enough
it falls in bracelets

the leaves curl
in your lap
the porch light goes off

you are a green parcel
undeliverable
like a live goat
or the harp in the garage

Birdwatcher

his face is blue
like the birds
but with
two red irises
for the cardinals
he watches
