DAILY COLUMN [TERRAIN] Photographs by Lee Ka-sing with haiku by Gary Michael Dault

For the nineteenth volume of the TERRAIN collaboration, Gary Michael Dault proposed the subtitle Port of Shadows, after the 1938 film by Marcel Carné. The chapter is built upon a suite of images that Lee Ka-sing rephotographed from his earlier negatives—what he calls “negative-positive,” or perhaps the reverse. In response, Dault pairs each image with a haiku.
