Alas, Luna
full moon night
mid-autumn chisels out
beaming lights
so pure, so crystalline
under the linden tree
bequeathed a pot of wine
I invite you
join me
a
glass
you, me, my shadow
we bosom three
Ask Selene
what scale she’d use
to measure
der mond sehr voll
das licht spilled
o’er mein glas nicht leer
this lost soul
afore a humble hut
who am I to drink with
the night forlorn
you suffuse
the air
the land
your luminous stare
sheeting frost
breaking into tears
my homeland
blurrrring
There, you suspend
my mesiac, lune and måne
big white orb
e’er-lit bulb
long there before me
still here to seduce
long after
I’m gone
let me toast you then
for longevity
perpetuity
dear friend
drink drink, I’ll sing
without pondering
see-eee
how
I
spin-nnn!
my shadows, twirl and swirl
brewing up
a forsaken song!
a mad maddening shtorm!
Shower me with light
bestow me, my Ch’ang-O
joy and clarity
poor dtrrrrunken pendulum
fancies elixir
<hiccup>
fleeing equi-li-brium
push apart
come together
ssshwinging wild in ecstasy
luna plena
chand mama
qamar kwinta
alle, alle! You hear me
tonight
and tomorrow night
join me flying
shurrrf, ride, wind, sky
bird, kite, balloon, butterfly!
on board the sans
souci
soaring high
and free
you, me,
my shadow
we bosom three
