A NEW PAGE
Like two stones rolling, in a double bubble.
Rolling for twenty years. At the wake of slamming doors, landing on this wonderful corner unit with two huge, connecting windows. The panoramic view of the crossroads where two streets meet is splendid. It used to be a gallery for twelve years. Hundreds of humans and angels along with their magical work appeared, and disappeared. Parties come and gone.
The carrots are cooked, the choice made. Blessed are those able to combine living and creating, sharing ideas, food and wine, especially life stories with friends. Little double bubble is an alternate universe, a heaven, an asylum, a little harbour, where one gets comfortable to set sail again.
1974年，李家昇與黃楚喬相識。由於大家都是喜歡文字工作，便一同合作了一些揉合攝影與文字的寫作計劃。發表在當時的「象牙塔外」，南華早報的 「Asia Magazine」等。及後，他們在1977年開設影室，開始了前後20年的職業攝影生涯。在八十年代，兩人共同在李國威主編的「博益月刊」，關夢南主編的「星晚周刊」，邱良主編的「攝影藝術」，麥烽主編的「攝影畫報」等刊物撰寫有關攝影的專欄，發表攝影工作及影像思考的文字。這些寫作活動，對於他們從技術層面過渡到思考層次起著關鍵性的作用。1991年底，李家昇建議「攝影畫報」將他三頁的専欄改為一份十六頁，作為附在畫報的獨立刊物。這便是後來廣為人知的「娜移」（女那禾多， DISLOCATION），同時也邀請了劉清平共同主編。後來編委又加入了李志芳，黃啟裕。「娜移」自1992年出版，家昇楚喬移居加拿大後，於1998年終刊。1994年，他們二人開始籌組的限量版照片計劃「OP Editions」（OP Print Program），先後發行了數百件攝影作品，幾乎概括了九十年代香港攝影師的重要照片。這個計劃的成功，也促使他們開始整理上一代攝影師的作品，代理三位老一輩的攝影師包括：邱良，麥烽，顏震東。以限量版照片的形式，整理他們在五十年代至七十年代間所拍攝香港的照片。由於兩人與各攝影師的交往，奠定了他們及後開設畫廊，以亞洲藝術家為重點的基礎。代理台灣的姚瑞中，日本的荒木經惟，香港的梁志和等。2000年，李家昇與黃楚喬在多倫多開設畫廊，經營至2018年十月結束。如今，畫廊空間易改成為他們生活居所。新的篇章。其中除了保留了三份一的空間作為展示兩人新近作品的場地之外，他們的工作室也成了一個圖書室以及大部頭資料文件照片作品庫。不經營畫廊的日子，除了可以調動更多時間創作，另一項重點，即是整理過去多年的資料點滴。這也帶出了出版 「DOUBLE DOUBLE」的原因。 除了發表兩人新舊的作品外，這個每週出版的刊物，也是遠去物及資料的泛整理平台。一部份照片，包括新舊作品藏品，會放在「奧信彭司」（Ocean Pounds）的網上店，部分整理內容也許會成為他日的出版物。這個平台以李家昇與黃楚喬為中心，放射効應，無論你是美術館或做研究的個體戶，都歡迎與我們聯絡。

ARTIFACT
WINGOCHROME & HOLLIBLAD, after Kodachrome and Hasselblad
A studio promotional publication in the format of a poster (17”x22.5”). Printed on both sides. One side displays an image by Holly and the other side by Ka-sing. Only two issues were published. This is the inaugural issue published in 1979, right after they moved to their second studio. The new studio was located in the mid-levels, in the Hoseinee House at 69 Wyndham Street. The name of the model is Robin. The camera Sinar.
Ka-sing was using a western name, WINGO until the mid eighties. After a long trip to New York City, he realized that he should keep an identity by using his own Chinese name - LEE KA-SING. He mostly keeps it the oriental way, which begins with the family name.
